Mary Immaculate Church - 16 Browns Lane - Bellport NY 11713
Sunday 8:00 PM, Thursday 7:00 PM & 8:30 PM
In the fall of 1972, Hugh M, Joe W., and another friend of Bill who remains anonymous founded the Bellport Group. The first meetings of the Bellport group met at the Christ Episcopal Church on South Country Road in Bellport Village. Some of the early members are still members such as Emily and Jack (deceased). The early members were always busy 12 stepping, bringing people to meetings from all over Long Island, as A.A. continues to do.
The group moved to Mary Immaculate R.C. Church on Brown's Lane in 1984 where it continues to hold its meetings now. Other members from the start said that Ritz passed away. Other members include Gene, Robert, Helen, Ritz, and Margaret. Father Ryan of Bellport Mary Immaculate R.C. Church was happy to have the Bellport Group meet at the church. Father Ryan is the priest that allowed the group to move there. He is still living. No one was sure when the 7:00PM meeting started. Some said 30 years ago and others said later
