"In October of 1943 this magazine published an article about the movement called Alcoholics Anonymous. The editors were astonished at the interest it aroused. While aware that there were many who ought to quit alcoholic drinks, they had not dreamed that so many sincerely wanted to quit. Clearly there is a tremendous demand for such help as "A.A." is giving. It is so help bring supply and demand together that this second article on the subject is written."
