Retired barber Thomas M. Harrer dies at age 75
Mr. Harrer was proud to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had many friends from the program in Hawaii, Palm Springs and San Diego. His favorite AA meeting was the daily 7 am Spiritual Awakenings meeting at Twiggs Coffee Shop. He sponsored many people and helped countless people “trudge the road of happy destiny” as he accumulated more than 23 years of continuous, uninterrupted sobriety.
Up to the last moments of his life, despite battling cancer, Mr. Harrer continued to tell everyone how happy he was and how lucky he was to have so many friends and family, and to have lived such a blessed life. He credits Alcoholics Anonymous, daily prayer and his love of God for all the blessings in his life, his family said.
