13 février 1937 : Le Groupe d'Oxford "la Compagnie Alcoolique" se réunit au domicile de Hank Parkhurst ("l'incroyant" dans la 1ère édition du Big Book) à New-York.

13 février 1940 : Après 2 années d'abstinence, Jim Burwell ("le Cercle Vicieux") déménage dans la région de Philadelphie et ouvre le 1er groupe AA de Philadelphie.

Two A.A.s, Mike H. and Ken W. liked the Florida Big Book format at meetings. Influenced by Clarence S. (one of AA's first members, his story in the Big Book is The Home Brewmeister) and the Florida format, they started the 164 Group on December 4, 2002. It meets on Monday where the Big Book is read and shared on. Later an early Saturday closed door meeting was added. Finally a Thursday night joined the schedule. It is named after the first 164 pages of the Big Book.
